Blinds To Go In The Home Office
When converting a bedroom to a home office, you should not overlook the blinds. A home office needs more than blinds to go with the furniture. It needs specific blinds to make working in the room more conducive to work.
Controlling the Glare from the Sun
The first thing you need to consider when purchasing blinds for you home office is the effect of glare. While this may not have been a factor for an old bedroom or guest room, it makes a world of difference in an office. Harsh glare from the sun can make reading a computer screen difficult, at best, and can cause eyestrain and headaches at worst. Therefore, when choosing the blinds, you need to consider the glare.
You have options for controlling glare. You can choose anything from a solar screen, which blocks glare but preserves the view, to complete blackout shades that prevent any light from entering the room. This leads us to the next point to consider…
Control the Light Entering the Room
Blinds have two main purposes, privacy and light filtering. Generally, home offices will focus more on light filtering than privacy, so we will start with the ability to block light.
- Solar Screens - Solar Screen's main purpose is to block the harsh UV rays from the sun. They will help prevent glare from the sun. However, they do little for privacy and blocking out light.
- Light Filtering Shades - Depending on the material, the shades will let in different amounts of light. You get more privacy from these shades and they control how much light you let in.
o Fabric Shades - Fabric shades offer the highest level of privacy for blinds. They do not have little openings to see through. However, the only adjustment is either them being raised or lowered.
o Blinds - Anytime you have slats, you have better control of the light entering the room. Turning the slats allows you to change the direction and the amount of light that enters the room.
- Room Darkening/ Blackout Shades - These block out the most light. They are good for home theaters and sleeping areas. If your home office needs a projector of any type, these will work the best.
Additional Considerations
Aluminum mini blinds are the cheapest blinds available. However, they can bend and break if treated roughly. While they do great in most offices, you will want to keep them away from pets and children who are likely to break them.
Real wood, faux wood and vinyl blinds are your best option for the home office. Since humidity is not a problem in offices, you can't go wrong with any of these choices.
Finding blinds to go in your home office is simple once you know what you need. Focus on reducing glare and the light filtering abilities of the blinds and you will do fine.

How to install tinted tail lights on my Mercedes s320?
I see cars on the streets these days with darkened tail lights. I assume they are called tinted tail lights if I am right. I hear some people call them smoked out or black out lights. But the question is where do people get them? Are they plastic vinyl or are they sprayed on with black paint or are they totally replaced with a black cover? And where can you buy them online or shop? My s320 has some orange on the tails and I'm wondering if that will stand out once I get them tinted same with the head lights. Will the orange be a problem or should I just replace them with clear lights? Oh and one more thing where do I get them installed because it's too risky doing it myself.
