what curtain rod can i use to hang pleated curtains ?
hello everyone need some help , im not sure other then the clip curtains from years past(they dont sell anymore) what other kind of curtain rods can i use to hang heavy pleated curtains? do you know a specific way that is able to be boughten now? any help is appreciated, thank-you
This is how I hang heavy pleated draperies:
Go to Bed, Bath & Beyond (I'm assuming you live in the States), and ask for "heavy duty drapery pins". They come in small packages, 14 pins to a package, and are small metal hooks with a sharp point on one side. Insert one pin on the back of each pleat on your draperies.
While at Bed, Bath, and Beyond, purchase a wooden drapery rod in a color that will coordinate with your room. They come in a light brown, a dark brown, and black, and they come in 6-foot lengths, and 8-foot lengths. If you need longer than that, you can buy connectors to connect two or more rods.
You will also need to purchase the coordinating wood drapery rings. These come with clips, which you will want to remove. Once you've removed the clips, you're left with the wooden ring with a tiny metal eyehook screwed into it.
Hang your rod, using the coordinating brackets from Bed, Bath & Beyond, and slide the rings onto the rod. Then, insert the drapery pins on the back of your draperies through the metal eyehooks on the drapery rings. And voila! You have pleated draperies hung on a decorator rod.
